2020

Before our project, this kitchen had a wall that impeded on the flow of the space. The kitchen felt much smaller and more closed off due to the wall that was originally located next to the island. Due to a load-bearing post in the wall, instead of knocking the wall down, we reduced the size of the wall to minimize the obstructed view from the living and dining room. We reconfigured the kitchen area to increase counter space and storage. To make things as functional as possible, while meeting the needs of this client, we utilized the island space for the range, microwave, and beverage drawers. As for materials, we went with bright white and deep blue hues to create a remarkable contrast.

We installed MSI Calacatta Montage quartz countertop to compliment the CNC Concord Fashion White and Concord Ocean Blue cabinets. The Glazzio Tile – Westminster Series – Blue Jubilee backsplash ties the kitchen together in a stylish way. Although maximizing storage space was a priority (and often is for many clients), we added open shelving near the door to keep the new configuration open and spacious feel, as well as having an easily accessible storage space. Since the range hood is making its statement above the island, we added two Maxim Stella Satin Nickel Pendant Lights above the two sink locations as focal points.
